About Jason

Jason Luo is a film editor and recent graduate of the American Film Institute Conservatory, specializing in narrative film. He is drawn to human-interest stories—whether set in the past, present, or future—that resonate with and have a lasting impact on the audience.

His editing philosophy is rooted in performance and rhythm. He believes in motivated editing, where every cut—or the deliberate choice not to cut—serves to heighten the emotional core of the story.

Technically, Jason is an Avid Media Composer Certified Professional and is also proficient in Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. His post-production skill set extends beyond the timeline—he is experienced in sound design using Pro Tools and visual effects using After Effects and Fusion.

In addition to picture editing, Jason is also a well-trained assistant editor. He is actively seeking new and exciting projects to contribute to.
